Copenhagen Fashion Week Winter 2025: Sustainability and Innovation in Focus

Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) has established itself as the new starting point of the international fashion season, surpassing New York and drawing global attention to the Danish capital. Held from January 27 to 31, the Winter 2025 edition reinforced the city's commitment to sustainability, showcasing inventive and functional fashion that goes beyond fleeting trends.
Pan-Scandinavianism and sustainability as protagonists

Even without heavyweight names like Ganni (now showing in Paris) and following the closure of iconic local brands, the week featured 27 labels that showcased a cohesive vision: pieces with reduced environmental impact and more accessible prices compared to the runways of Milan and Paris.
The event, which once exclusively celebrated Danish design, now expands its scope with a pan-Scandinavian approach, highlighting brands such as:
> 66 North (Iceland)
> Filippa K and Cmmn Swdn (Sweden), with the latter delivering one of the most striking shows of the week by reinterpreting menswear tailoring with fluid, universal silhouettes.
Highlights of the week

New talents and the commitment to the future

The CPHFW NEWTALENT program, created in 2022 to promote young brands, highlighted Bonnetje, by the duo Anna Myntekær and Yoko Maja Hansen, who transform discarded men's suits and shirts into sensual women's pieces with a touch of workwear.
Under the leadership of Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of the event since 2018, CPHFW has become a reference in sustainable fashion. The success is such that, starting this year, the British Fashion Council will adopt similar criteria for its NewGen program during London Fashion Week.
The legacy of Copenhagen

The winter 2025 edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week proved that it is possible to reconcile innovation, style, and environmental responsibility, redefining the role of fashion in the contemporary world. The event reaffirms that the future of the industry lies in smart sustainability, creative collaboration, and the ability to look beyond the traditional boundaries of the industry.
